This year has been a whirlwind of a rollercoaster.  It's up to us as parents to give our kids the utmost love and care amidst all the craziness in this world.  It's in the small moments that only last a little while, that we can finn SO much joy and blessing in our lives, no matter what's going on outside.  These brand new parents are already doing an amazing job and simply enjoying the soft and tender moments this little one has brought them.  

Not everything is bad news this year.  Amidst all the crazy and changes, life still goes and there is a lot of beauty to be found in all the chaos.  I met this lovely couple at a small and intimate civid-style backyard wedding.  We picked a day and shot some photos on the side of the road in this gorgeous little flower field.  ...and they turned out amazing!  Looking forward to meeting their little one soon!  

We were so honored to capture the special day for these two amazingly sweet souls!  They are so simple and down to earth and they're love was totally on display at their Los Angeles rooftop wedding!  

A horse-loving, down-to-earth fun and friendly family!  These kids were simply amazing to work with!  ...not to mention their dogs that couldn't just watch family photos being taken, they just had to jump in!  Sweet memories!

Celebrating the life of a new little boy born to three older sisters!  Congratulations on the newest blessing of this family!  

What a privilege it is to be able to do what I love, but it's a blessing to have a friend who bakes you a cake for your birthday!  And not just ANY cake, but a replica of your camera!  The attention to detail was incredible!  Isn't that just awesome!  I loved it!  :D

Just in time to celebrate the harvest season is this blessed family's newest bundle of joy, their sweet little pumpkin!  Big sister was an amazing assistant cuddling her little brother with such tenderness!  Love me some sibling love!  

I was fortunate to meet this super down to earth couple a few years ago.  Then, I was privileged to photograph and document their engagement and wedding day.  Now, I had the honor of meeting their new tiny bundle of immense joy and have him smile for the camera!  He's already such a strong little trooper!  ...in fact, the strongest newborn I've ever worked with!

Meet this sweet and fun-loving couple!  He's a swim teacher and she's a biochemist student.  They met in high school and reconnected in college.  They enjoy the outdoors and spending time with each other.  It was such a blast to capture their love at one of their favorite spots:  the beach where they had their first date.  How sweet is that?!?!  It will be such an honor to document their special day coming 2017!  

A little over three and a half years ago I met this sweet, down-to-earth couple for their engagement session on the beach.  Their wedding soon followed and I was privileged to document their special day.  They soon became close friends and have since had many late night dinner and games full of laughter!  They will soon be having long nights, but not due to good company with friends; instead, with the arrival of the newest member of their little family! Congratulations on the little life blooming in the womb this Spring!  Can't wait to meet and hold him!

I had the honor of capturing this stunning bride and her groom on their special day!  They are both so sweet and loving towards each other and you can totally see it in their smiles.  The emotions they convey are are clearly evident!  This bride wore her best accessory all day long...her radiant smile!  

Four years ago we had a fun cake smash session in the studio with a precious little girl.  She came back for some portraits and this time brought her new baby brother with her!  

Got to capture some special shots for such a sweet couple Saturday, who's expecting their second bundle of joy in just a few weeks!   I even had the opportunity to work with their adorable little girl, who was so excited and didn't hold back on chipping in a few ideas for poses of her own (the first one's hers)!!   Future photographer in the making?!?!  Who knows!... but I can already tell she's going to be a great big sister! 

I absolutely LOVE getting out this time of year, soaking up some gorgeous weather in sunny southern California!  I especially love being able to capture some beautiful spring flowers with such adorable cuteness as this cutie!  Makes for a sweet card, don't you think?!?!  

This bride began the night saying "I do" with red heels, and ended the night changing into some rockin' kicks to surprise the groom with his favorite at the garter toss!  Stay tuned for more pix coming soon!

About this time last year, we had the privilege of photographing the Santa Colorita 5K Color Run for A.Allbright Painting.  Not only was it plastered with bursts and splashes of brightly neon-colored powdered cornstarch all over every runner, but our picture made it to the cover of a national magazine!!!  It doesn’t matter that it’s not a bridal magazine or a parenting one, but the fact is, we got published!!!  And for that, we are truly grateful!

Had the pleasure of working of working with such amazing an couple, their adorable little piece of heaven, against gorgeous sunset skies on the beach!!!  So grateful for having the privilege to do what I LOVE!

I had the pleasure of working with a couple of down-to-earth people.   These two are just great for each other!  Lovin' how all the fall colors came together in this beautiful Autumn engagement session.  And check out this gorgeous little stump I found; perfect for making a ring shine!  Looking forward to their upcoming wedding in the spring!

Got to work with this adorable little baby boy last weekend!  I'm so stoked that I get to work with such fragility!  I can't help but smile at view of images like this one!   Wish I had pictures like these of my littles when they were that small.  Also makes me want to have more!  lol  :D

While I've never been much of a speaker and/or writer, (I'm more of a listener), photography has given me that voice to be able to express myself creatively.  When it comes to blogging though, that's a whole other ballpark for me, otherwise I would've been a writer.  Most of the time I don't know what to say, so don't judge.  This small blog will probably be all over the place.  :)  I recently saw one of those ecards that said a woman's mind is like having a thousand tabs open on your computer, and that's exactly how mine works!  lol  

Let's start by introducing myself.  My name is Velkyz.  I'm married to a wonderful man of God, who also happens to be my best friend.  :)  We have four amazingly silly kiddos, who will not bore you EVER!  I love being a mom more than anything.  I find incredible how a little person who knows nothing about life knows just the essential and can have such an enormous heart filled with so much love.  And that's the true meaning of life!  ...LOVE!  
Other things about me:  I love coffee!  (with creamer of course!)  If you do too, let's hang out!  I'm pretty quiet, used to be extremely shy, still so, but not as much.  I grew up without a computer; didn't have one 'til I was 21 - yes, I would go to my neighbor's house to type up my college papers!  lol  

From here on out, I hope that through my blog you can be able to connect with me and get a better sense of who I am and what it would be like to be around me.
